Since Greg Roman parted ways with the Ravens, the team has conducted a search for its next offensive coordinator. The Ravens should look no further than Kansas City.
The Ravens have already requested to interview Eric Bieniemy, and the two need each other more than they know. Fox Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe agrees.
"On the surface it looks like a lateral move, but I believe in order for him to get a fair assessment and opportunity, he's probably going to have to leave because people aren't going to give him the credit," Sharpe said on "Undisputed."
Ravens request permission to interview Eric Bieniemy for their OC:

“Eric’s going to have to leave because he won’t get the proper credit under Andy Reid. Other guys with less impressive resumes have gotten head coaching jobs.” — @ShannonSharpe pic.twitter.com/jdUiw1HQkJ
Bieniemy has helped lead the Chiefs to five straight AFC Championships and three Super Bowl appearances in a five year span. However, he seems to continuously get overlooked.
"Eric's going to have to leave because he won't get the proper credit under Andy Reid," Sharpe added. "Other guys with less impressive resumes have gotten head coaching jobs."
Some who have gotten jobs since Bieniemy has been OC in Kansas City are Freddie Kitchens, Joe Judge and Nathaniel Hackett. All have been fired.
"It seems to be only Eric Bieniemy that's been held to that standard," Sharpe finished. "There's got to be something wrong with him."
Bieniemy could start fresh in Baltimore with another young and talented quarterback in Lamar Jackson. And maybe he'll finally earn the credit he deserves to become a head coach.
