Falcons Coaches Excited About New Starting Quarterback

Falcons coaches are showing strong support for Penix as he steps into the starting quarterback role. Quarterbacks coach T.J. Yates highlighted Penix’s advanced understanding of the game, saying, “How he saw the entire picture was kind of set in stone for all of us. Like, 'Alright, we got a guy here.’” Yates also pointed out Penix’s strong field awareness and ability to move defenders with his eyes, adding, “It’s one of his greatest assets, so we don’t want to over-coach or out-coach some of those things out of his system.”

The coaching staff sees this offseason as a key time for growth and building chemistry. Wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard said, “Now we set the bar, there’s an expectation, and now the work begins.” Assistant head coach T.J. Robinson echoed that confidence, saying, “Now it’s like, ‘Man, this is your team. Let’s roll with this thing.’” With a talented group of playmakers around him, Yates believes Penix is in a strong position to lead the offense forward, saying, “We’ve got a lot of awesome weapons around him… so we’re extremely excited about where this offense can go.”
