Why was the Antonio Brown arrest warrant dropped?

You may have noticed that news regarding the warrant for Antonio Brown's arrest went suspiciously quiet for a couple of weeks.

The mystery came to an equally bizarre end this week, with ESPN and other major outlets reporting that the warrant was recalled on Tuesday.

What exactly went down?

Legal insider Amy Dash, who was actively reporting on the standoff, explained this week that the decision to recall the warrant "came after the alleged victim recanted her allegation on December 16th, more than two weeks after the incident." Brown faced potential misdemeanor domestic violence battery charges after an altercation the 34-year-old had with the mother of his children became aggressive and allegedly led to him kicking the woman out of his house.

It's certainly an interesting turn of events. Florida police originally said they weren't going anywhere as they posted up outside of Brown's residence and waited for the former NFL wide receiver to come out so they could arrest him, calling the ordeal an active investigation. At one point, Dash reported, the state attorney's office was even considering upgrading the misdemeanor charges to felony charges.

Meanwhile, Brown has remained active as ever on social media while held up in his Tampa home. The embattled wide receiver has not taken the field since his wild exit from a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game against the New York Jets almost one year ago but has been involved in a number of bizarre incidences before the domestic battery charges ever came to light.
