Will Campbell's Combine Performance Puts Him in Elite Company

At the 2025 NFL scouting combine, one offensive tackle stood out from the pack. Already a top name in several mock drafts, LSU's Will Campbell delivered a standout performance on Sunday by running a 4.98 40-yard dash.

Not only was that one of the fastest times for an offensive lineman this year, but as noted by The 33rd Team on social media, Campbell is only the third offensive lineman at 315+ pounds since 2010, joining Tristan Wirfs and Trent Williams, to run a 40 under five seconds and have a 30+ inch vertical jump.

(Note: The post refers to a 30+ inch broad jump, but likely is a typo that is intended to highlight Campbell's 32-inch vertical.)

Williams, 36, is a three-time first-team All-Pro and 11-time Pro Bowler. At 26 years old, Wirfs is a Super Bowl champion, two-time first-team All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler.

In Luke Easterling's latest NFL mock draft, Campbell is projected at No. 7 overall to the New York Jets. And in his scouting report for the Tigers' tackle, the athleticism Campbell put on display at the combine was a big part of the appeal of the 6-foot-6, 323-pound lineman.

"A fantastic athlete for his size, Campbell’s movement skills are rare for someone with his massive frame," wrote Easterling.

"He’s explosive out of his stance as both a run blocker and a pass protector, getting to his landmarks quickly and rarely getting beaten around the arc by speed rushers."

In addition to his 4.98 40 and 32-inch vertical, Campbell ran a 1.76-second 10-yard split (seventh-best among OL) and 9-foot-5 broad jump (tied for second-best among OL) at the combine.
