Pittsburgh Steelers fans are rejoicing, despite it being just one preseason game, because their two young quarterbacks Will Howard and Drew Allar both showed up in a big way. Undoubtedly Allar was the story of the game because of his 10/13 for 153 passing yards, and three total touchdowns.
Will Howard on the other side was also great, despite dealing with a poor offensive line, completing seven of nine passes for 86 yards including a 2 minute drill. You also had Mason Rudolph who started the game that had 10 of 11 passes for 93 yards.
Looking at Will Howard, he was a high quality quarterback in college as he won a National Championship, and he got the opportunity to sit behind Aaron Rodgers for his entire rookie season which could help him develop.
The Steelers have a team right now that truly is a Super Bowl contender because of their elite depth across the entire board. Looking at the offensive weapons, we're talking about DK Metcalf, Michael Pittman Jr, Germie Bernard, Pat Friermuth, Darnell Washington, Rico Dowdle, Jaylen Waddle, and others. This is a team that doesn't need a quarterback for the 2026 season, but they need a quarterback for the future.
Once again, all of the hype is around Drew Allar based off of his preseason performance, but people need to also put respect on Will Howard's name.
