Will Levis had been hoping to compete with No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward for the Tennessee Titans’ starting quarterback job ahead of the upcoming season, but that is no longer a possibility for him.
Levis will undergo surgery on his throwing shoulder, according to multiple reports. The former second-round pick will be sidelined for the entire 2025 season.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Levis has been dealing with discomfort in his right shoulder since last season. He had been taking part in practice this offseason, but the pain persisted.

There was speculation ahead of the NFL Draft in April that Levis would be traded , but the Titans kept the former Kentucky star on their roster. Head coach Brian Callahan and general manager Mike Borgonzi had insisted that Levis would battle Ward for the Week 1 starting job, though very few people believed there was actually a competition.
The season-ending injury for Levis removes all doubt that Ward will enter the season as Tennessee’s starter.
Levis had a chance to prove himself with the Titans last season, but the results were not good. He finished the year with 2,091 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 12 games.
