Will The Falcons Finally Be Ready To Fly In 2025?
USA TODAY Sports

Depending on who you ask, expectations are always high for the Atlanta Falcons.

This coming season, the Falcons have an opportunity to create a fresh start while gaining steam to become an NFC contender year after year.  Offseason moves have been made to provide a spark on both sides of the ball. The team has added depth at several positions, and Atlanta is expected to draft playmakers who are ready and willing to contribute immediately during this year's NFL Draft.

The Kirk Cousins situation will still need to be worked out in the coming months, as will gauging what the future holds for Kyle Pitts. One way or another, it has to work out for the Falcons and their fans. This offseason and free agency period has been one of the more crucial ones throughout the franchise's history.

The same goes for the NFL Draft. It is a well-known fact that Atlanta has lacked the ability to pressure opposing quarterbacks. This will be addressed during the draft, but at what position and how many rushers they draft remains a mystery. Rumors have also circulated that Atlanta will draft not only the franchise's first-round selection but possibly a second Georgia Bulldogs player.

Atlanta has weapons on the offensive side of the ball, a very deep wide receiver, and a running back room. Michael Penix Jr. has the arm talent and mental capability needed to lead the franchise, especially with the help of retired Falcons QB Matt Ryan, who has agreed to mentor Penix Jr.

Things are looking up in Atlanta, and if the team isn't ready to fully spread their wings during the 2025 season, that time is upon us in the near future.
