Will undrafted rookie RB lead Ravens backfield rest of season?

The Ravens have been dominant during their four-game win streak, outscoring their opponents 130-49. A big reason why is because of their rushing attack, which may have just found its next featured back.

That player is RB Keaton Mitchell, an undrafted rookie in 2023. The running back had the most rushing yards (138) in Week 9 with 132 yards coming after contact. The next closest was Raiders RB Josh Jacobs, who had 98 yards on the ground.

Mitchell didn't just show his physicality, however. He was clocked running 20.99 miles per hour, according to Next Gen Stats, which is the fastest speed by a Ravens ball-carrier this season.

It's safe to say that head coach John Harbaugh was impressed with the rookie's big day on the ground.

"He's a guy that's just been working every day. He has a great attitude. He's definitely a very talented guy," Harbaugh told reporters. "He finally gets a chance and makes the most of it."

It's very likely Mitchell will get another good opportunity to prove his Week 9 performance wasn't a fluke. However, it won't be as easy in Week 10.

Baltimore is set to host its divisional rival, the Cleveland Browns (5-3), who are allowing the sixth-fewest rushing yards per game (89.8) in the league.

Whether Mitchell becomes the full-time starter is still unknown. Running backs Gus Edwards and Justice Hill have also played well, combining for 729 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.

The Ravens seem set to continue their dominance on the ground the rest of the season either way. Baltimore is already averaging the most rushing yards per game (160.3) and now has a three-headed monster rushing attack.
