While the Wisconsin football staff will have key 2026 class official visitors on campus, a rising 2028 linebacker will also visit.
Skylar Alston , a 2028 linebacker from North Carolina, has quickly become a player the Wisconsin football staff is keeping an eye on. Assistant linebackers coach Tuf Borland was granted greater recruiting control in the 2026 class and beyond, and has grown to have a relationship with Alston.
The recruit earned a scholarship from Borland and Wisconsin in May and now will campus for the first time this weekend. Alston previously enjoyed the experience of meeting with Borland and earning a scholarship from Wisconsin, and expressed plenty of interest in visiting Madison in the near future.
While Alston is on campus representing the 2028 recruiting class, 2026 priority target four-star offensive lineman Jalayne Miller will be taking an official visit.
Four-star running back Amari Latimer will also be on campus for an unofficial visit just days after visiting officially and hinting at potentially uniting with relative and Badgers defensive back Geimere Latimer.
For Alston, visiting season has begun and the recruit is beyond ready to experience both Madison and the Wisconsin football program.
The talented 2028 linebacker was previously on campus in Chapel Hill and had the chance to participate in a workout with none other than coach Bill Belichick in attendance. When asked about the opportunity to play in front of Belichick, Alston stated, “It was surreal to meet a six-time Super Bowl Champion and to hear his feedback on how I did at camp. I will never forget it!”
Alston also earned a scholarship during the camp with UNC which added to the positivity of the experience.

Alston will go from Belichick, who has a vast professional history, to Tuf Borland, who has quite the playing history on the field. Previously Alston stated that the experience of Borland plays a role in his recruitment as the coach is a former linebacker himself. When asked about potentially playing under Borland, Alston stated, “I would love to learn from someone of his caliber!”
Heading into the Wisconsin visit, Alston stated, “I’m super excited. I have been in contact with coach Borland a lot. I can’t wait to get there.”
The Wisconsin football program has quickly shot up the boards for Alston, but many other programs are still highly involved early on. Georgia Tech, Penn State, Louisville, and Notre Dame have all been recently tied to the recruit and could be programs to watch moving forward in the recruiting process.
