A woman has been charged with a DUI and vehicular manslaughter regarding the crash that killed former Minnesota Vikings cornerback Khyree Jackson and his two friends, Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton Jr, in July 2024.

According to WTOP.com, Cori Clingman was charged after the crash was investigated by Maryland State Police.

“This was a horrific tragedy that should not have occurred,” Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy said, via WTOP

Jackson and his two friends were driving in a Dodge Challenger when Clingman crashed her Infinity Q50 into the Challenger and a Chevrolet Impala.

The driver in the Chevrolet wasn't injured but Jackson and his two former high school teammates in the Challenger passed away in the crash.

Jackson was a rookie for the Vikings, while Hazel played college football at Maryland and Charlotte. Lytton Jr. played college football at Florida State and Penn State.

The Vikings donated $200,000 towards Jackson's funeral last year.

"I am absolutely crushed by this news. Khyree brought a contagious energy to our facility and our team," Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said in a statement at the time of his passing. "His confidence and engaging personality immediately drew his teammates to him. In our short time together, it was evident Khyree was going to develop into a tremendous professional football player, but what was more impressive was his desire to become the best person he could be for his family and those around him. I am at a loss for words. My heart goes out to Khyree's family, friends, teammates, and coaches."

Clingman remains in custody and will have a bond hearing on Friday. She faces at least 30 years in prison.

Our thoughts continue to be with the Jackson, Hazel, and Lytton families.
