WR Allen Robinson Announces Retirement

Following a 12-game stint with the Lions in 2024 that saw him finish with only three receptions, we heard that Robinson was considering calling it a career. Instead, he decided to remain active for one more season, although he was unable to secure a gig during the 2025 campaign.

The 2014 second-round pick out of Penn State made a name for himself during his time with the Jaguars. He had a breakout campaign during his sophomore season, when he finished with 80 catches for 1,400 yards and a league-leading 14 touchdowns. He was limited to only 883 receiving yards the following year, and his 2017 campaign was effectively wiped out thanks to a torn ACL.

Despite the injury, he still earned a three-year, $42MM contract from the Bears ahead of the 2018 season. He had several productive years in Chicago, including a two-year stretch between 2019 and 2020 when he hauled in 200 total receptions for 2,397 yards and 13 scores. After being slapped with the franchise tag during the 2021 offseason, Robinson was limited to 410 yards that year.

Still, he did enough to convince the Rams to hand him a three-year, $46.5MM contract in 2022. That deal didn’t work out, as Robinson was limited to 33 catches for 339 yards and three touchdowns before getting dealt to the Steelers. His numbers took another dip during his lone season in Pittsburgh, when he finished with 34 catches for 280 yards. He had a brief stint with the Giants before catching on with the Lions ahead of the 2024 campaign.

Robinson finishes his career having hauled in 565 catches for 7,058 yards and 43 touchdowns in 139 games. He’s ranked top-10 in Jaguars history in receptions (202, 8th), receiving yards (2,848, 5th), and receiving touchdowns (22, 4th).
