WR Larry Fitzgerald heading back to Cardinals?

Nothing has officially changed as it pertains to the future of 11-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. The veteran who turns 38 years old at the end of this month remains a free agent but, by all accounts, is welcome to re-sign with the Arizona Cardinals at any point assuming he wants to pursue winning a Super Bowl ring one last time.

As Wills Rice noted for Arizona sports radio station 98.7 FM, however, Fitzgerald's father recently posted a cryptic tweet when asked about his famous son's intentions:

On Thursday, Larry Fitzgerald Sr. added:

Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury and general manager Steve Keim have both insisted the Arizona roster has a spot for Fitzgerald if he wants it, and it's possible the future Hall of Famer who first joined the Cardinals via the 2004 NFL Draft and has played only for that organization merely wishes to skip the preseason, a right he's earned through his years of service.

Fitzgerald tallied 54 receptions for 409 yards and a touchdown in 13 games last season.
