Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco suffered a shoulder injury during the team's Week 8 loss to the New York Jets. Flacco didn't miss any snaps, but he did get checked out in the locker room late in the fourth quarter.

Head coach Zac Taylor confirmed to reporters Monday what Flacco's injury was, and how they'll handle the issue in the coming days.

"We'll take it day-to-day. It was a shoulder issue," Taylor said of Flacco's injury. "He came back and so, again, sore today, and we'll continue to work through the week."

A sore shoulder is far from the worst outcome for the starting QB, but Flacco being day-to-day means he could miss some practice time later this week. Cincinnati hosts the Chicago Bears Sunday, Nov. 2 at 1:00 p.m. ET and return to practice on Wednesday.

Flacco has now started three games for the Bengals and has posted 784 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 64.3% of his passes. Missing any amount of practice time is not ideal, but he shouldn't be counted out from playing this week.

Defensive end Trey Hendrickson is in a similar spot. Hendrickson re-aggravated his hip injury that caused him to miss Week 7 and only played 23 snaps against New York. Taylor is also listed the All-Pro as day-to-day.

"He obviously came out of the game with a very similar issue," Taylor said of Hendrickson. "So we'll work through the week with him."

Hendrickson was day-to-day last week as well, and he was a limited participant on Wednesday and Thursday and did not practice Friday.

The Bengals managed to survive without Hendrickson against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but Flacco was on his A-game that night and the offense was able to put up enough points. Sunday's loss to the Jets was an example of what could also happen without the defense's best player.

Wednesday's injury report will tell us where Flacco and Hendrickson are with their injuries, and the likelihood they'll be available against Chicago.
