The New Orleans Saints have m made some questionable roster decisions over the years. One of them wasn't necessarily letting Zack Baun walk.
The former Saints linebacker simply never got the opportunity to maximize his skillset in Dennis Allen's defense, and that was the main issue.
The Saints never actually got to learn what sort of impact he could make, and he's now dominating for the Philadelphia Eagles defense. They're preparing for this year's Super Bowl right now, in New Orleans.
On Baun's Instagram story, he shared a picture from inside the Saints locker room. They had a Super Bowl promotion set up for him. You can imagine he felt redeemed to see that in the city he used to play in to begin his pro career.

Baun has been an All-Pro talent for Philly this season, reaching new heights in production and reliability for the Eagles' unit. There is no doubt that he was motivated to prove himself after signing a one-year deal with them last offseason.
The former Saints defender was named a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year as well.
"That's really cool, really special. Honestly, not even on the spectrum of a goal of mine. I really just try to be the best player I can be and try to maximize my potential and my ability. So, for that to be -- not the end result-- but an outcome of the work I put in I'm really proud of myself."
Baun also shared a great, heartfelt moment with former Saints quarterback Jameis Winston, too. He answered questions from the media, including Winston, who is representing FOX Sports this week.

As for New Orleans, Baun joined the list of players like Trey Hendrickson and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson to continue elevating their game after they left the Saints.
We will see what kind of deal Baun gets this offseason as a free agent. He deserves quite the pay raise and long-term commitment from a team.
