Bengals running back Zack Moss agreed to a re-worked contract to stay in Cincinnati this season according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Moss ran for 242 yards and two touchdowns in eight games last year before suffering a season-ending neck injury. He also had 23 catches for 187 yards and one touchdown.

The 27-year-old was scheduled to make $3 million in base salary and carried a $4.8 million cap hit. It's reasonable to think his new deal lowered his salary and cap hit for this season.

By bringing back Moss, the Bengals fill an under-the-radar weakness on their roster. Cincinnati has an experienced trio of Chase Brown, Samaje Perine and Moss at running back.

Moss signed with the Bengals last March as a free agent. It felt like his time in Cincinnati was coming to an end, but his willingness to agree to a new contract kept him on the Bengals' roster.

It's great news for Moss and the Bengals. First off, it means Moss is recovering well from the neck injury. It also helps solve one of their roster issues ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
