On The First Day of Christmas

When the Tempe arena debacle forced the franchise to move from Arizona to Utah, the temporary team name became “Utah Hockey Club.” No logo, no mascot—that’s got to change! And it will.

On The Second Day of Christmas

Karel Vejmelka has a 7-4-2 record since replacing Connor Ingram in net.

When Ingram went down in mid-November, “Veggie” stepped up and has been lights out! If he continues to play like this, Ingram may be the backup. And Jaxson Stauber has filled in nicely in back-to-back games with a 2-0-1 record.

Guenther, who was acquired with the 9th overall pick obtained in a trade with the Vancouver Canucks has been nothing but a massive addition to the Utah lineup.

Keller has deserved the captaincy for a while now. He has tallied 13 goals and 23 assists in 34 games. His leadership going forward will direct this team to the playoffs—maybe this season!

Sergachev has been excellent. He has eight goals and 18 assists in 34 games. His composure and stamina have led the Utah blueline to new heights. He averages almost 26 minutes of ice time per game.

McBain has an incredible 651 hits in 193 games in his NHL career. That’s 3.37 hits PER GAME! In other words, get out of his way if you don’t want to be run over. His physical play allows his teammates some added space to operate.

The Utah team is just two points out of a playoff spot! They have just gone 6-2-2 in their last ten games. They are a tough road team with an 11-6-2 record. If they can get healthy again, there’s no telling where they can finish this season. While still in a rebuild, the team is really coming together. Now, if they can only hold on to their recent success and build on it, the playoffs could be in sight. GO, UTAH GO!
