A "Golden Rule" Game in Predators Loss to Canucks
USA TODAY Sports

The Nashville Predators moved to 3-4 after last night's home loss the to Vancouver Canucks. Colton Sissons and Kiefer Sherwood scored for Nashville, but a slow start and a taste of their own medicine challenged the Predators through the first forty minutes of the game.

"They did to us what we would've liked to do to them," Andrew Brunette said after the game.

The Canucks dominated the first two periods in puck possession and shots on goal. Nashville finally got to their game in the third period but were unable to capitalize on opportunities including two power play chances to tie the game late.

Vancouver got on the board first as a wrist shot by Ilya Mikheyev got past Juuse Saros. Colton Sissons tied the game up late in the first period with an unassisted goal at 15:38. Two quick strikes by Vancouver in the first four minutes of the second period gave Vancouver a 3-1 lead and put Nashville back on their heels. The line of Tommy Novak, Kiefer Sherwood, and Luke Evangelista combined for a Sherwood one timer from the circle to get the Predators back within one goal midway through the second period.

Nashville finally get to their game in the third period but weren't able to capitalize on offensive opportunities in the final twenty minutes, and the game ended with a final score of 3-2.

It was a disappointing loss for the Predators who entered last night's game on a two game win streak. Nashville will have an extra day between games to make adjustments before facing the Toronto Maple Leafs at home Saturday night.
