Your Calder Cup Champions Abbotsford Canucks have released their 2025-2026 schedule as they look to defend their title.

Captain Chase Wouters and defenceman Kirill Kudryavtsev stared in the announcement video, shared on the Abby Canucks social channels:

They later released the full schedule in calendar form, which can be viewed by clicking here.

Most championship-winning teams open the following season on home ice in front of their fans to raise the banner. However, the Abbotsford faithful will have to wait a few days, as they kick off the season on the road against the Henderson Silver Knights on Friday, October 10th.

After their double-header against the Silver Knights, they head East to Laval to take on the Rocket for another pair of games the following weekend, before finally returning to the Abbotsford Centre on Friday, October 24th, against the Ontario Reign. The Canucks will have to wait two weeks from when they kick off the season to watch their championship banner flying high in the Abbotsford Centre.

The previous back-to-back Calder Cup Champion Hershey Bears opened both of the following seasons on home ice, but the Canucks weren’t as lucky.

Abbotsford’s roster projects to look much different than the team that hoisted the trophy in late June. Postseason standout Sammy Blais signed a one-way contract with the Montreal Canadiens, Phil Di Giuseppe found a new home with the Winnipeg Jets, and Cole McWard inked a deal with the New York Islanders.

Other Abbotsford players, such as Nate Smith, Jujhar Khaira, Christian Wolanin, and Akito Hirose, remain on the free agent market, searching for their next destination. Calder Cup playoff MVP Arturs Silovs’ name has been mentioned in trade rumours after his heroic performance in the postseason, which has earned him a job in the NHL next season.

Linus Karlsson, Aatu Räty, Max Sasson and Arshdeep Bains will all be given a chance to make the jump to Vancouver next season as well.

The Canucks have brought in a handful of replacements: Pierre-Olivier Joseph, MacKenzie MacEachern, Joseph Labate, and Jimmy Schuldt.

Regardless of who’s on the opening night roster, Canucks fans will get to watch Abbotsford defend their title next season starting on October 10th and back at home on October 24th.
