Patrik Laine of the Montreal Canadiens was injured by Cedric Pare of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and now, Adam Fantilli is weighing in.
For those who may not know, Fantilli and Laine were teammates on the Columbus Blue Jackets. While there are reports that Laine was not well-liked out in Columbus, he did have some teammates who were in his corner. One of those teammates just so happened to be a young Fantilli, who got a lot of great advice from Laine about being a rookie in the NHL.
After Laine got injured last night, Fantilli spoke to reporters and noted that he spoke to Laine via text. While he doesn't have an update on the star's injury status, he did speak on just how devastating all of this is. If you are a Montreal Canadiens fan, you probably agree with what Fantilli is saying.
' You definitely hate to see that, especially in preseason. It's tough. You hate to see that, a friend of mine."
It remains to be seen what the diagnosis will be for Laine.. However, a lot of fans are expecting the worst. He left the game on crutches and some doctors online believe it could be a torn ACL. If that is really the case, then Laine's season is completely over. It just goes to show that anything can happen at any time in the NHL.
