McCormick hadn’t played since January 11th, 2025, missing the rest of that season and all of this season due to an injury. McCormick spent three seasons with Coachella Valley, appearing in 158 games, recording 140 points on 67 goals and 73 assists. He was a +31 with 17 power-play goals, three shorthanded goals, and ten game-winning goals. He was a part of their Calder Cup Finals team that lost to Hershey, appearing in 26 games, recording 27 points on 14 goals and 13 assists. McCormick played in 44 playoff games with the Firebirds, recording 38 points on 22 goals and 16 assists. He was a plus-nine with seven power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and four game-winning goals.

McCormick was drafted 171st overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He played in 94 career NHL games, recording eight goals and five assists. McCormick played in 540 AHL games over 12 seasons. He played for the Binghamton and Belleville Senators, Colorado Eagles, Charlotte Checkers on two stints, Chicago Wolves, and Firebirds. McCormick recorded 337 points on 159 goals and 178 assists. He was a +34 with 31 power-play goals, 14 shorthanded goals, and 21 game-winning goals. He appeared in 53 Calder Cup Playoff games, recording 45 points on 26 goals and 19 assists. McCormick was a +12 with seven power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and five game-winning goals.
