Luke Prokop joins his hometown organization with a wealth of Alberta hockey experience in his back pocket. After an initial four year stint with the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL, Prokop was traded to the Edmonton Oil Kings, where he put up 33 points in 55 games. He then added 16 points in 19 playoff contests to lead the Oil Kings to a league championship and Memorial Cup appearance. The following season he went to the Memorial Cup once again with the Seattle Thunderbirds, this time making it to the Final.
Drafted in the third round in 2020 by the Nashville Predators, Prokop graduated to the ECHL with the Atlanta Gladiators, then the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals the following season. Last year with the Admirals, Prokop had four points in 31 games played. The big blue liner is best known for his size, standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing in at 220 lb.
Lindgren meanwhile is the son of former Edmonton Oilers forward Mats Lindgren, who played with the team from 1996 to 1999. The newly acquired 20-year-old joins the Condors from the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, spending most of last season in the ECHL with the Wheeling Nailers, where he had seven goals and 21 points in 56 games played. The Vancouver native also made his AHL debut last year, with seven appearances with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Meanwhile, 26-year-old Brown is heading to Bakersfield after spending the majority of last year with the ECHL’s Reading Royals, adding 19 matches with the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms over the past two seasons. In college, he recorded 101 points in 115 games with Boston University and was named to the 2021 Hockey East All-Tournament Team and the 2023 Hockey East First All-Star Team.
Alongside Brown, Janicke is joining the Condors forward group after splitting last season between the ECHL’s Rapid City Rush and the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers. In 30 games with Rapid City, he had 25 points. The 24-year-old was originally drafted in the fifth round of the 2019 entry draft by the Anaheim Ducks from University of Notre Dame, where he spent his five-year college career.
