AHL: Goalies to Watch in the 2026-27 Season

The 2026-27 AHL season is coming in 65 days. Michael DiPietro won the MVP last season with the Providence Bruins, and he’ll be the backup in Boston this season. Sergei Murashov turned in a stellar rookie season, going 24-9-4 with a 2.20 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage. Murashov will make the list as he’ll start the season with the Penguins, but who else joins him in names to watch in net?

Trent Miner – Colorado Eagles

Miner last season made four appearances with the Avalanche, going 1-0-3 with a 2.03 goals-against average, a .933 save percentage, and a shutout. In 32 games for the Eagles, he went 17-8-5 with a 2.62 goals-against average, a .904 save percentage, and a shutout. In 17 playoff games, he went 11-6-0 with a 1.87 goals-against average, a .925 save percentage, and four shutouts. He was fifth in the playoffs in goals-against average, and first in shutouts.

Domenic DiVincentis – Manitoba Moose

DiVincentis, in 34 games for the Moose last season, went 13-16-3 with a 3.03 goals-against average, an .896 save percentage, and two shutouts. In five playoff games, he went 3-2-0 with a 1.43 goals-against average, a .955 save percentage, and a shutout. He led in the playoffs in goals-against average and in save percentage.

Michal Postava – Grand Rapids Griffins

Postava burst on the scene at the end of the regular season and took over in the playoffs. He essentially forced the Red Wings to trade Sebastian Cossa with his emergence. In 25 games for Grand Rapids, he went 17-6-0 with a 1.71 goals-against average, a .937 save percentage, and four strikeouts. In the playoffs, he went 4-4-0 with a 2.09 goals-against average, a .912 save percentage, and a shutout.

Trey Augustine – Grand Rapids Griffins

Augustine at Michigan State went 24-9-1 in 34 games. He had a 2.11 goals-against average, a .929 save percentage, and three shutouts. He made two appearances with the Griffins, going 0-2-0 with a 3.39 goals-against average and an .878 save percentage.

Michael Hrabel – Tucson Roadrunners

Hrabel, in 29 games at UMass, went 19-9-1 with a 1.95 goals-against average, a .937 save percentage, and four shutouts. He then made five appearances for Tucson, going 3-1-1 with a 2.96 goals-against average and an .897 save percentage.

Adam Gajan – Rockford IceHogs

Gajan made 33 appearances at Minnesota-Duluth, going 19-13-1 with a 2.25 goals-against average, a .908 save percentage, and two shutouts. He was the third goalie for Slovakia in the Olympics but didn’t appear in a game. He appeared in one game for Rockford, suffering a loss as he stopped 36 of the 39 shots he faced.
