The Hershey Bears have added to their goalie department as they’ve signed Ben Kraws to an AHL contract for the 2026-27 season. Kraws spent most of this past season in the ECHL with the Idaho Steelheads, where, in 31 games, he went 16-12-2 with a 3.03 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. He did make four appearances with Texas in the AHL, going 0-3-0 with a 4.34 goals-against average and an .840 save percentage.

Kraws spent five seasons in the NCAA before turning pro. He played for three different colleges, starting at Miami University (Ohio). He then went to Arizona State University, before one season at St. Lawrence University to end his college career. In 19 games at Miami, he went 1-13-2 with a .872 save percentage and a 4.28 goals-against average. In 33 games at Arizona State, he went 15-11-1. He had a 2.84 goals-against average, a .909 save percentage, and a shutout. He final season, he played in 37 games. Kraws went 14-17-6 with a 2.49 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage, and two shutouts.
Kraws, in 11 career AHL games, is 4-6-0 with a 3.38 goals-against average and a .877 save percentage. In two Calder Cup Playoff games, he had a 4.46 goals-against average and an .813 save percentage. He’s also appeared in 71 games with Idaho, going 39-24-7-0 with a .909 save percentage and a 2.94 goals-against average.
