AHL: Hunter Shepard Signs Overseas

This afternoon, it came out that goalie Hunter Shepard is signing overseas with Barys Astana in the KHL. Shepard played in one game with the Ottawa Senators this past season, suffering a loss as he allowed two goals on 12 shots. In 15 games with Belleville in the AHL, he went 6-7-2 with a 3.65 goals-against average and a .885 save percentage. He was traded to Montreal, where he played in four games with Laval, going 1-2-0 with a 2.40 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage. In 19 games combined, he went 7-9-2 with a 3.42 goals-against average and a .887 save percentage. In his lone playoff game, he allowed two goals on 12 shots.

Shepard played in 44 games in the ECHL, going 14-15-4 with a 2.73 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage, and three shutouts. In 13 Kelly Cup Playoff games, he went 7-6-0 with a 3.38 goals-against average and an .883 save percentage.
