AHL: Julien Gauthier Signs Overseas

The Springfield Thunderbirds are seeing another forward from their 2025-26 team sign overseas. Forward Julien Gauthier is reportedly signing with Brynas IF of the Swedish Hockey League. Gauthier was acquired by Springfield in the trade that saw Matt Luff head to Bridgeport. In 11 games with Springfield, Gauthier recorded five points on two goals and three assists. He was a plus-one. In seven playoff games, he had two goals, was a plus-one, and one of those goals was a game-winner. The game-winner led to Springfield winning game three of their series with Charlotte to advance. In 14 games with Bridgeport, he had seven points on five goals and two assists. He was a plus-one with a power-play goal.

Gauthier has appeared in 239 career AHL games with four different teams. He has 135 points on 88 goals and 47 assists. He’s a -12 with 25 power-play goals, two shorthanded goals, and ten game-winning goals. In 32 career Calder Cup Playoff games, he has 12 points on eight goals and four assists. He’s a plus-five with two power-play goals. In 181 career NHL games, he has 41 points on 19 goals and 22 assists. He’s a -25 with two game-winning goals. Gauthier also appeared twice for Team Canada in the World Juniors Championship. In his first stint, he played in five games, recording two assists.
