The Lehigh Valley Phantom entered the goalie market this offseason as Parker Garhagen signed with the Bridgeport Islanders. Today, the Phantoms signed Carolina Hurricanes unrestricted free agent Yaniv Perets to an AHL contract. He appeared in games with the Hurricanes, Chicago Wolves, and Bloomington Bison this past season. In one game for the Hurricanes, he stopped six of the seven shots he faced. Perets, in four games with Chicago, went 1-2-1 with a 3.93 goals-against average and a .846 save percentage. In 27 games in the ECHL with Bloomington, he went 12-12-1 with a 2.59 goals-against average, a .921 save percentage, and three shutouts.

Perets played his college hockey at Quinnipac. In 74 career games, he went 56-9-5 with a 1.34 goals-against average, a .935 save percentage, and 21 shutouts. He led the Bobcats to their first National Title in 2023. In the tournament, he went 4-0-0 with a 1.25 goals-against average, a .948 save percentage, and a shutout. Perets, in six career NCAA tournament games, went 5-1-0 with a .915 save percentage, a 2.29 goals-against average, and a shutout. In 2023-24, he appeared in 34 games for the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL, going 18-11-3 with a 2.99 goals-against average, a .889 save percentage, and two shutouts. In ten playoff games, he went 5-5-0 with a 3.04 goals-against average and an .888 save percentage. He also made his NHL debut, stopping the only shot he faced in just under 13 minutes of action.
