The Calgary Wranglers are losing a key forward as Martin Frk is signing overseas with the Shanghai Dragons of the KHL. He appeared in 66 games for the Wranglers last season, recording 60 points on 30 goals and 30 assists.

Frk was drafted 49th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings. Before joining the Red Wings, he spent three seasons in the QMJHL with the Halifax Mooseheads, where he appeared in 152 games, recording 163 points on 73 goals and 90 assists; he was a plus-eight.

He had two appearances in the World Juniors Championship. He appeared in 12 games for Czechia in the two appearances, recording ten points on six goals and four assists; he was plus-one. Frk appeared in 124 NHL games, recording 41 points on 20 goals and 21 assists. He was a -32 with nine power-play goals and a game-winning goal.

In 536 AHL games, he has 437 points on 224 goals and 213 assists. He was a +35 with 71 power-play goals and 35 game-winning goals. In 39 Calder Cup Playoff games, he has 32 points on ten goals and 22 assists. He’s a minus-five with two power-play goals and two game-winning goals. In 44 ECHL games, he had 51 points on 28 goals and 23 assists; he was a plus-one. He spent 2023-24 in the NL with two teams. In 33 games, he had 16 points on seven goals and nine assists; he was a minus-nine.
