DiPietro won the award last season when he went 26-8-5 in 40 games with a 2.05 goals-against average, a .927 save percentage, and four shutouts. Other than shutouts, all of his numbers this season were better.
He is in his fourth season with Providence, where he’s appeared in 116 games, going 79-25-8. He’s never lost double-digit games in a season since joining the Bruins. DiPietro posts a 2.11 goals-against average, a .927 save percentage, and 11 shutouts. In seven playoff games, he is 3-3-0 with a 1.85 goals-against average, a .928 save percentage, and a shutout.
The Bruins will soon start their Calder Cup Playoff schedule, but they are currently awaiting who they’ll play. The options are Bridgeport, Hershey, or Springfield. You can bet DiPietro will be on top of his game as he looks to bring Providence its first Calder Cup Championship since 1998-99.
