The Milwaukee Admirals this morning announced they’ve signed two defensemen to AHL contracts for the 2026-27 season. The two defensemen are John Prokop and Will Gilson. Prokop played in 24 games for the Marlies this past season. He recorded three points on a goal and two assists; he was a minus-six. Wilson appeared in 37 games at Quinnipiac, where he had 28 points on five goals and 23 assists; he was a plus-seven. Wilson signed with Providence but never appeared in a game for them.

Prokop attended Union College for three seasons. He played in 107 games, where he recorded 85 points on 20 goals and 65 assists; he was a minus-five. He then joined the Marlies, playing in three games; he didn’t record a point and was a minus-four. He’s a minus-ten in 27 career AHL games. Gilson appeared in 61 games at the University of Alaska-Anchorage, where he recorded 29 points on nine goals and 20 assists; he was a -16. He then transferred to RPI, where in 2024-25 he appeared in 35 games, recording 24 points on eight goals and 16 assists; he was a plus-six. Gilson, over four college seasons, appeared in 133 games, recording 81 points on 22 goals and 59 assists; he was a minus-three.
