Ontario Reign Forward Cole Guttman has been suspended by the AHL today. The suspension was handed down in result of Guttman’s illegal check to the head during the game against the San Jose Barracuda Saturday. The Reign currently sit in second place in the Pacific Division with 34 points (16-8-1-1). They are three points behind the Colorado Eagles for the top spot in the Pacific Division. Ontario lost last nights game against the San Jose Barracuda 4-3 in a shootout.

Cole Guttman

Cole Guttman has five goals and 11 assists for 16 points for the Reign this year. Guttman only has 29 penalty minutes in 26 games played this season for Ontario. Last season Guttman had 23 goals and 34 assists for 57 points in 70 games played for the Reign. In his last ten games Guttman has two goals and seven assists.

Summary

With today being the last game before the Holiday break, Guttman will miss the rest of 2025 games. Today’s game and December 31st games against the same San Jose Barracuda. He will return to the ice January 3rd against the Coachella Valley Firebirds. While not a top offensive threat, a balance contributor for the Reign will be missed during these two games as they look to close the gap with the Colorado Eagles in the Pacific Division.
