The Providence Bruins are coming off their best season in franchise history, winning the Kilpatrick Trophy as they had a league record of 54-16-2-0 with 110 points, three points more than second-place Grand Rapids. Providence had its season come to an end in its first series in the second round as they lost in four games to the Springfield Thunderbirds. It is reportedly confirmed that their captain, forward Patrick Brown, is signing overseas as he’s joining Adler Mannheim of DEL in Germany. Brown this season in 71 games had 54 points on 20 goals and 34 assists. He was a +36 with six power-play goals and a game-winning goal. He finished second in the AHL in plus/minus. In the playoffs, he was held pointless in the four games and was a minus-one.

Brown spent three of his ten career AHL seasons in Providence, captaining two of those seasons. He also played for the Henderson Silver Knights, Chicago Wolves, and Charlotte Checkers. In 572 career AHL games, he had 286 points on 111 goals and 175 assists. He was a +80 with 29 power-play goals, seven shorthanded goals, and 15 game-winning goals. In 39 Calder Cup Playoff games, he had 20 points on nine goals and 11 assists. He was a plus-four with a power-play goal, a shorthanded goal, and a game-winning goal. Brown also played in 164 career NHL games, recording 26 points on ten goals and 16 assists. He was a -29 with a shorthanded goal.
