The Providence Bruins have three games this week. They enter the week riding a seven-game winning streak. This week, they will face the Bridgeport Islanders on Wednesday before a home-and-home this weekend against the Hartford Wolf Pack. Today, they recalled goalie Luke Cavallin from the Maine Mariners of the ECHL. The move comes following Simon Zajicek left Sunday’s 3-0 win after the first period against the Charlotte Checkers. Zajicek was not seen on the bench after the period as Michael DiPietro replaced him. That was Zajicek’s first game back from a lower-body injury. There has been no report on what the injury is to Zajicek, but speculation is that he reaggravated that injury. Cavallin, over the week, in his return to Maine, went 1-2-0-0, posting a 3.55 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage.
Cavallin has played in three games for Providence this season. He went 3-0-0 with a 1.95 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage. Cavallin, this season for the Mariners in 23 games, is 12-7-4 with a 2.47 goals-against average, a .914 save percentage, and two shutouts.
