The 2026 AHL All-Star Classic will take place on February 11th at the BMO Center in Rockford, IL. The skills competition will be on February 10th. The Springfield Thunderbirds will have one representative as they are sending Matt Luff to the game. Luff is making his first all-star appearance. Luff, in 29 games this season, has 30 points on 12 goals and 18 assists. He’s a minus-six with three power-play goals and three game-winning goals. Luff leads Springfield in points and goals, and he’s tied for the team lead in assists. He is currently riding a six-game point streak where he has two goals and six assists; he also has points in eight of his last nine games. He has also played in five games with the St. Louis Blues, scoring a goal and being a minus-two.

Matt Luff

Luff has spent 11 seasons in the AHL playing for the Ontario Reign, Milwaukee Admirals, Grand Rapids Griffins, Charlotte Checkers, and Thunderbirds. In 308 career games, he has 242 points on 99 goals and 143 assists. He’s a minus-eight with 22 power-play goals, three shorthanded goals, and 12 game-winning goals. In 12 Calder Cup Playoff games, he has two goals and an assist. He’s a minus-four with two game-winning goals. He’s also appeared in 111 career NHL games with the Los Angeles Kings, Nashville Predators, Detroit Red Wings, and Blues. He has 28 points on 16 goals and 12 assists. He’s a -14 with a power-play goal and three game-winning goals.
