The Texas Stars season came to an end on Sunday in game six of the Western Conference Finals as they lost the series in six games. Just four days after their season came to an end their goalie Magnus Hellberg signed a three-year deal with Djugardens IF of the Swedish Hockey League which runs through the 2027-28 season. The 34-year-old netminder went 24-14-1 with a 2.69 goals-against average, a .904 save percentage, and two shutouts in 41 games this season. In the playoffs he went 3-3 with a 2.36 goals-against average, and a .921 save percentage.

Magnus Hellberg

The Nashville Predators drafted Hellberg 38th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He spent six seasons in the NHL playing in 26 games going 8-8-1 with a 3.08 goals-against average and a .890 save percentage. He spent time in the KHL from 2017-2021 before returning back to the NHL where he played with the Detroit Red Wings in one game picking up a win stopping 20 of the 23 shots he faced. Last season, he spent time with the Pittsburgh Penguins as well as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Charlotte Checkers of the AHL. In three games with Pittsburgh he went 1-0-0 with a .922 save percentage and a 2.92 goals-against average. In 27 AHL games he went 14-10-2 with a 2.75 goals-against average, a .893 save percentage, and a shutout.
