The Tucson Roadrunners today extended forward Sammy Walker with a one-year AHL deal. In 57 games last season for Tucson, he had 28 points on 12 goals and 16 assists. He was a -13 with a power-play goal and three game-winning goals.

Before joining the pros, he spent four seasons at the University of Minnesota. In 144 games, he had 112 points on 48 goals and 64 assists. He would play 13 NHL games with the Minnesota Wild, recording a goal and an assist. He was minus-four. Walker spent three seasons with the Iowa Wild, appearing in 156 games, recording 104 points on 43 goals and 61 assists. He was a +14 with 13 power-play goals, two shorthanded goals, and eight game-winning goals.

Then he appeared in 88 games for Tucson, recording 50 points on 20 goals and 30 assists. He was a -15 with five power-play goals and four game-winning goals. In 244 career AHL games, he has 154 points on 63 goals and 91 assists. He’s a minus-one with 18 power-play goals, two shorthanded goals, and 12 game-winning goals. In four career Calder Cup Playoff games, he has no points and is a plus-two.
