The Utica Comets have announced that they’ve recalled forward Dylan Wendt from the Adirondack Thunder. Wendt, 24, has four goals and nine assists for 13 points in 16 games this season with Adirondack, including seven points in his first five games to begin the season. He is in the final year of his two-year, entry-level contract with the New Jersey Devils. This is a well-earned call-up for the 24-year-old forward.

The Grant Haven, Michigan, native has played in 17 games with the Comets, where he’s put up two goals and three assists for five points. He finished the end of the 2024-25 season with Utica before beginning this season with the Thunder. Wendt also had nine goals and 19 assists for 28 points in 43 games last year with the Thunder.

Prior to going pro, Wendt spent three seasons in the USHL with the Green Bay Gamblers and Muskegon Lumberjacks. In 155 USHL games, he had 28 goals and 69 assists for 97 points. During his two seasons in Muskegon, he would serve as the team’s captain. He would add four assists in four games during the 2021 USHL playoffs with the Lumberjacks. After finishing his junior career, he spent three seasons at Western Michigan University. During his time with the Broncos, he put up 33 goals and 36 assists for 69 points in 111 games. Wendt was nominated for the Hobey Baker Award in 2024 as he put up 23 goals and 21 assists for 44 points in 38 games.
