The Edmonton Oilers are back-to-back defending Western Conference Champions. This season, they are currently 13-11-6 with 32 points, sitting in fourth in the Pacific Division and currently in the top wild card spot in the Western Conference. They could certainly use a boost in goal, and an offensive addition with some physicality would help as well, which is why they’re currently linked to forward Alex Tuch. Tuch is a free agent after this season and has a no-movement clause. He also has a $4.75 million cap hit.

Tuch is a native of Syracuse, New York, so if he wanted to stay at home, Buffalo would have to pay a little extra due to them looking at a potential rebuild again. Tuch profiles as an excellent fit for the Oilers. This season he has 26 points in 30 games on 11 goals and 15 assists. He’s even in plus/minus with two power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and a game-winning goal.
