Mitch Marner's future will be decided in a matter of weeks, and now a top insider has revealed which teams will put in the biggest offer for the superstar forward as the sweepstakes to land him heat up ahead of free agency.

Over the past few weeks, the biggest story in the NHL has been the free agency future of Mitch Marner, and now, it appears all but certain he's set to leave the Toronto Maple Leafs, the team he's been with for the past decade.

According to varying reports, everyone from the Calgary Flames to the Anaheim Ducks to the Vegas Golden Knights are interested in Marner, but only a few of the teams mentioned can do one of two things: provide him the money he's after and a situation he wants to join.

Now, two of those top teams are emerging, as Chris Johnston has now revealed that the Chicago Blackhawks and Carolina Hurricanes are expected to put in the biggest offers for Marner when he officially hits free agency.

In a recent revelation, the current betting odds on FanDuel have both of these teams as the two favourites to land Marner if he does indeed depart Toronto, and with solid team situations and opportunities plus salary cap space, they both make perfect sense as landing spots for the star forward.

Beyond these teams, Los Angeles, Florida, Vegas and Utah are all shaping up as teams to keep an eye on in the Mitch Marner sweepstakes, and while he hasn't officially ruled out a return to Toronto yet, that seems unlikely at this point, so now, speculation will continue until No. 16 officially has his new home in the National Hockey League.
