Anaheim Ducks acquire Ben Meyers from Colorado Avalanche for draft pick

Meyers has just one goal in nine games this year, and six goals in 53 games over three seasons in a depth role for the Avalanche. Meyers was a big college free agent signing back in 2022, with Meyets putting up 17 goals and 41 points in 34 games as a junior at the University of Minnesota. He also had a huge year internationally that season, representing USA at the Winter Olympics in Beijing and finishing as one of America’s top players at the World Championship that year.

Meyers hasn’t produced much in the NHL, but he has proven to be a solid piece for the AHL’s Colorado Eagles. He has 11 goals and 25 points in 32 games this season and has really found his game in recent weeks – so much so that some scouts consider him a future bottom-six threat in the NHL.

That’s why Anaheim could be a good fit for Meyers. The two-way forward works hard and moves well enough that, with the Ducks set to be in a reubild for the next few years, he should be able to force himself into the NHL conversation on a full-time basis sooner rather than later.
