Anaheim Ducks Trade Mason McTavish to St. Louis Blues

The Anaheim Ducks entered the night with reportedly two offers on the table for Mason McTavish. One from the New York Rangers and the other from the St. Louis Blues. Ultimately, they picked the Blues’ offer, which gives St. Louis the 15th overall pick and the 29th overall pick in the draft. The Blues used the 15th pick to select winger Nikita Klepov.

McTavish, this season in 75 games, had 41 points on 17 goals and 24 assists. He was a -15 with six power-play goals and three game-winning goals. In ten playoff games, he had a goal and five assists; he was a plus-one. In five seasons with Anaheim, he appeared in 304 games, had 181 points on 77 goals and 104 assists. He was a -54 with 23 power-play goals, a game-winning goal, and ten game-winning goals.

Klepov spent last season with the Saginaw Spirit in the OHL. In 67 games, he had 97 points on 37 goals and 60 assists; he was a plus-nine. Before the OHL, he played in the USHL with the Sioux City Musketeers. In 59 games, he had 31 points on 12 goals and 19 assists; he was a plus-five. He’s committed to play at Michigan State this season.
