Toyotas dominated Friday’s ARCA Menards Series qualifying session at Kansas Speedway.
Led by pole-sitter Lawless Alan, Toyota drivers earned seven of the top nine spots for Friday night’s Tide 150 at the 1.5-mile track. Alan on Friday turned a hot qualifying lap of 174.605 mph, claiming his first career pole position.
Alan edged runner-up Thad Moffitt, who clocked a lap at 30.99 seconds. Moffitt’s time edged William Sawalich by 0.006 seconds. Mason Mitchell was fourth at 174.104 mph.
Brenden Queen, who qualified fifth at 31.132 seconds, topped the pre-qualifying practice field at 174.064 mph. He was followed by Alan (173.26 mph), Sawalich (173.016) and Moffitt (172.789).
Lavar Scott entered the circuit’s fourth race leading the drivers’ standings with 116 points, three more than Alan and eight more than Queen.
