Both Matthews and Nylander will play major roles for their countries at the Olympics next year. Both were part of the 4 Nations Faceoff rosters and served in leadership roles, which they will likely continue in at the Olympics.
Matthews served as the captain of Team USA at the 4 Nations, but put up just three assists in three games. He will be looking to make a bigger impact on the world’s biggest stage.
Nylander was an assistant captain for Sweden at the 4 Nations and had just two assists in three games. He will also be looking to make more of an impact at the Olympics.
Congrats to Auston and William on the Olympic nods!
