The Red Wings lost defenseman Axel Sandin-Pellikka in the third period with over 13 minutes left after a check by Tanner Jeannot along the Detroit bench. Shortly after Sandin-Pellikka went down the tunnel Ben Chairot went to check Jeannot but was intercepted by Mark Kastelic and the two had an exchange. The exchange led to a four-on-four as both went to the penalty box for roughing. The injury to the Red Wings’ young defenseman could be a huge blow if it’s anything serious to a team that’s struggling right now.
