Kyle Davidson has made two moves on Wednesday, and his third signing resembles last year’s addition of Dominic Toninato . The Chicago Blackhawks have signed defenseman Dylan Anhorn to a two-way contract for one year. The deal pays $800K in the NHL and $200K in the AHL.
Anhorn has never played an NHL game, but has 95 games of AHL experience. Anhorn has spent the last two full seasons with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. Last season, Anhorn skated in 46 games, collecting 17 points (three goals, 14 assists). The left-handed defenseman also posted three points in seven postseason games as well.
With so many young players graduating to the NHL, the pipeline is a bit defeated. The Blackhawks’s defensive depth also features players that are going to be in college or in the juniors, so they need bodies in Rockford. There is a reason that Ian Cole and now Dylan Anhorn have been brought in.
