Blackhawks Injury Update: Jarred Tinordi to IR
Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Blackhawks are dealing with another injury on the blue line as the team placed Jarred Tinordi (right groin strain) on injured reserve ahead of Tuesday's game against the Vancouver Canucks. Tinordi's IR designation is retroactive to Feb. 7.

The rugged defenseman last played on Feb. 7 against the Minnesota Wild. In 30 games this season, Tinordi has six assists.

It doesn't appear to be a long-term injury for Tinordi, who took the ice for Tuesday's morning skate session. Additionally, his retroactive injured reserve status could allow him to return as early as Thursday when the Blackhawks host the Penguins.

In the meantime, the Blackhawks will turn to Louis Crevier and Isaak Phillips on the third defensive pair. Tuesday's game against Vancouver begins at 7:30 PM CT and will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
