Viktor Arvidsson put home a hat trick in the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Connor Bedard recorded Chicago’s lone goal.

Connor Bedard is a Bad Boy

Ever since returning from shoulder surgery over the summer, Connor Bedard has been remarkable. On the worst-performing offense in the league, Bedard has done what he can. The captain tallied a goal just six minutes into the game.

Off a high-speed rush by Roman Kantserov, the puck found its way to Wyatt Kaiser. Kaiser ripped a hot on net, and Connor Bedard slid a backhand pass through the 5-Hole of John Gibson.

The goal was marked by many notable events. Kaiser has recorded two points in two games, and Kantserov picked up his first assist in the NHL.

As for Bedard, he now has seven points in seven games. He’s been the engine running the Chicago Blackhawks offense. In every game that Chicago has scored in, Connor Bedard has recorded a point.

Angry Arty

As we have mentioned before, Artyom Levshunov has been a changed man this year. One department he has stepped up in has been his physicality. The Belarusian native was getting chippy vs the rival Red Wings tonight. In an emotionally charged matchup, Levshunov made good use of his body in front of the net.

Not only that, but Levshunov was constantly involved in extracurriculars after the whistle. Levshunov finished the night with two hits on the box score, but he threw his body around a lot more. Arty was also able to stay out of the box on a night when the Chicago Blackhawks committed four infractions.

When Is Enough, Enough

The 2026-27 Chicago Blackhawks have been an awful hockey team. But somehow, someway this may have been the worst game this team played. Somehow worse than the matchups vs Utah and Carolina earlier this season.

Tonight, the Chicago Blackhawks were outmatched in every single category. Every one. Fenwick, Corsi, Shots xG, Scring chances, great-danger scoring chances. Not a single category saw the Chicago Blackhawks hold a slight advantage. And it was not close either. Detroit had nearly as many high-danger scoring chances as Chicago had regular scoring chances. By the time the game ended, the “Deserve To Win-O-Meter” from MoneyPuck.Com read just a 20% chance to win. For those not quite in the know, the model takes most of the stats I just mentioned and runs a thousand simulations.

It’s a cliché, but at some point something has to change.
