The Chicago Blackhawks have a minor goalie crunch with Petr Mrazek temporarily sidelined due to a personal matter. To shore up depth between the pipes, the Blackhawks recalled Drew Commesso from the AHL's Rockford IceHogs before Tuesday's game against the Anaheim Ducks.
Head coach Luke Richardson confirmed that Mrazek won't be available against Anaheim, and the team is hoping the veteran netminder's absence won't be lengthy.
Luke Richardson said Petr Mrazek is dealing with a personal matter so he’s out tonight. They’re hoping he won’t be gone too long.

Arvid Soderblom will start vs. Anaheim and Drew Commesso will back up. #Blackhawks
As Laurent Brossoit's recovery from knee surgery drags on , Arvid Soderblom will start Tuesday against the Ducks. Soderblom has been stellar when called upon this season as he owns a .934 save percentage and 2.22 goals-against average in five games.
Commesso figures to serve as Soderblom's backup until Mrazek is ready to return. The 22-year-old touts an .854 save percentage and 3.71 goals-against average in six AHL games this season. If Commesso gets into a game with the Blackhawks in the near future, it'll mark his NHL debut.
The Blackhawks look to bounce back from two offensive-starved losses when they host the Ducks on Tuesday. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. CT and the game will air on Chicago Sports Network (CHSN).
