The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled defenseman Jakub Galvas from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.

This isn’t the 22-year-old’s first time joining the NHL club this season. He has played in five games for the Blackhawks to date, averaging 18:25 of ice time in those contests. At Rockford, Galvas has 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 32 games this season.

The move to recall Jakub Galvas comes in the wake of the news that Jake McCabe will not play tonight against New Jersey. The Hawks ruled him out yesterday due to lower back issues. Additionally, Calvin de Haan will be a game-time decision after missing the team’s morning skate.

The Blackhawks and Devils will face off at 7:30 PM CT from the United Center tonight. The game will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
