Following the conclusion of the Notre Dame University College Hockey season, former Golden Domer forward and 2023-24 captain Landon Slaggert has made a decision on his future. According to the Chicago Blackhawks, Slaggert has signed a two-year, entry-level contract worth $912,500 per season.

Slaggert had a chance to sign with the Hawks last season, but elected to return for his senior season and serve as the captain of the Fighting Irish.
In his final college season, Slaggert tallied 20 goals and 31 total points. Slaggert has the potential to be a really good middle-to bottom-six forward for the Hawks. However, for the remainder of action this season, he’s either getting minimal minutes, or all of the minutes in his first taste of NHL action.
Over four seasons at Notre Dame, Slaggert recorded 89 points (45 goals, 44 assists) in 134 games. The statistics suggest Slaggert could have really nice power-forward potential in the future.
With the loss to Michigan, Notre Dame furthered the career of Blackhawks’ prospect Frank Nazar. The University of Michigan ventures to the Big Ten Tournament semifinal with their win in the series over the Fighting Irish.
Slaggert’s debut is still unknown, but there is a fair chance that Slaggert could debut before St. Patrick’s Day, as Sunday begins a four-game home stand.
