Dallas Stars weigh Jason Robertson's future as Rasmus Andersson trade rumors with Calgary Flames intensify.

The Dallas Stars may be facing one of the biggest decisions of their offseason, and it could shape their future for years to come.

Jason Robertson, the team's $31 million star winger, is still waiting on a contract extension, and speculation is growing about whether Dallas will get a deal done or explore a shocking trade.

During a recent segment, insider Frank Seravalli added fuel to the fire by suggesting the Calgary Flames would love to target Robertson in a package that could involve defenceman Rasmus Andersson.

Seravalli said:

" On the Andersson front, I think everyone's curious, what happens with Robertson? Will they work out an extension here in short order? And if not, are they making a move? The Flames would love to get their hands somehow on Robertson, I think, in a deal that could involve Rasmus Andersson, which would be such a good fit. "

While the idea of losing Robertson feels like a nightmare scenario for Dallas fans, the potential of adding a top-pairing defenceman like Andersson could tempt the front office.

Still, Robertson is a cornerstone player, and moving him would send shockwaves through the locker room and fanbase alike.

I can't help but think the Stars need to lock Robertson up rather than risk shaking their core at such a crucial time.

For now, it's just talk, but with training camp fast approaching, Dallas will have to make a decision quickly, either extend Robertson or consider the unthinkable.
